Italy registered its first two cases of coronavirus on January 31. It was not until February 20th that the first person died. It was not until March 8 that the Italian Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, declared a total quarantine in the Lombardy region (to the north), a measure that has been followed by other geographical areas.
